Affiliate Disclosure
The Retirement Index complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides. This page describes how the publication earns revenue from outbound links, which links are affiliate, and how we keep rankings independent of commission rates.
We earn commission from some outbound links
When you click an outbound link to a company we recommend and subsequently request a free informational kit, open an account, or take another tracked action, The Retirement Index may receive a referral commission from that company. These commissions support our editorial work, including primary-source research, fact-checking, and external expert reviewer engagement.
Which links are affiliate
On any given review, affiliate links are the primary call-to-action buttons in each company verdict card — specifically buttons labeled “Request Free Info Kit,” or equivalent. These buttons are marked with the HTML attributerel="sponsored noopener", open in a new browser tab, and display the microcopy “sponsored link · we may earn commission.” Internal links, links to primary government sources, and links to other Retirement Index articles are not affiliate links.
How we keep rankings independent
Rankings are determined against the published methodology before any commission discussion takes place. The rate a company pays does not change its rank. We will not enter into an affiliate relationship — at any commission rate — with a company that materially fails the methodology. Companies that promote home-storage gold IRA arrangements, manufacture urgency, or push inappropriately-marked-up numismatic or proof products inside an IRA are excluded from coverage regardless of what they would pay.
Specific vendor partnerships
Where a specific company-level partnership materially affects how a review was produced (for example, paid access to a company’s account-opening process for evaluation purposes), that relationship is disclosed in the relevant review itself.
Flagging concerns
If you believe an affiliate relationship has influenced our coverage — or that a disclosure on this site is unclear — please email editorial@theretirementindex.com. We take disclosure concerns seriously and respond promptly.
